Dr. Stephanie Szabo grew up in Los Angeles, California.  She obtained her Veterinary Medical Degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2003. In 2004, she completed her Rotating Small Animal Internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York, NY.  Dr. Szabo then went to Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center in Dallas, Texas where she completed her Surgical Internship followed by a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her Small Animal Surgery Residency in 2009 at North Carolina State University. 

Dr. Szabo became a board-certified small animal veterinary surgeon in 2011 and worked in private practice in Tucson and Phoenix for five years. She joined the faculty at Midwestern University School of Veterinary Medicine where she worked as a clinical professor for six years. She joined the ARISE Veterinary Center team in 2023, where she continues to teach interns and students and shares her skills and knowledge to heal patients.
