Dr. Amanda Liggett
Dr. Amanda Liggett is a board-certified veterinary cardiologist with a strong passion for advancing cardiac care in companion animals. A Kansas native, she began her academic journey at Kansas State University, earning her undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences and Industry. She went on to obtain her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences.
Dr. Liggett completed a rigorous rotating emergency and specialty internship at BluePearl in Overland Park, Kansas, followed by a cardiology specialty internship at BluePearl in Irvine, California. She then pursued her cardiology residency at Desert Veterinary Medical Specialists, where she gained extensive experience in diagnosing and managing complex cardiac conditions.
Her clinical interests include echocardiography, the management of congestive heart failure, congenital heart disease, and cardiac arrhythmias. Dr. Liggett is especially dedicated to client education, and she values the opportunity to partner with families in understanding their pet’s cardiac condition and treatment options.
Outside of her professional work, Dr. Liggett enjoys spending time in nature, connecting with friends and family, and caring for her beloved pets—including her two cats, Newton and Augie, as well as her geckos and aquariums.
