Dr. Carter grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from veterinary school at Auburn University in 2007. 

He went on to complete a rotating internship at Louisiana State University in 2008 and residency in small animal internal medicine at Michigan State University in 2012. He spent five years in private referral practice in Pennsylvania and New York and another five years as a faculty member at Midwestern University before joining the team at ARISE. 

Dr. Carter enjoys all aspects of internal medicine. He has a special interest in Canine Coccidioidomycosis (Valley Fever) and small animal Diabetes Mellitus. He is proficient in a number of advanced diagnostic techniques including ultrasound and endoscopy.
